The electric flanged butterfly valve utilizes a "U" shaped stainless steel sealing ring, which forms precise elastic three-dimensional eccentric contact with the polished butterfly plate. This design addresses the issue of traditional eccentric butterfly valves maintaining sliding contact friction on the sealing surface when opening and closing at 0° to 10°, achieving separation of the sealing surface from the butterfly plate when opened and closed to extend service life and optimize sealing performance. As a result, the electric flanged butterfly valve is extensively applied in industries such as metallurgy, electric power, petroleum, chemical industry, air and gas transportation systems, as well as water supply and drainage for corrosive media pipelines with medium temperatures ≤550ºC. It serves as an optimal device for flow regulation and fluid shut-off.
The electric flanged butterfly valve typically consists of an angular travel electric actuator (with a partial rotation range of 0~90°) mechanically connected to the entire assembly of the butterfly valve after installation and adjustment. The disc-shaped butterfly plate is installed in the diameter direction of the pipeline within the cylindrical channel of the valve body where it rotates around its axis within an angle range from 0° to 90°; full openness occurs at a rotation angle of 90°.
This type of valve features a simple structure with minimal parts that are lightweight and compact. Its operation involves quick opening or closing by rotating just 90°-a straightforward process-and exhibits excellent fluid control characteristics. When fully open, only minimal resistance is offered by the thickness of the butterfly plate as medium flows through it; consequently generating low pressure drop for superior flow control characteristics. Butterfly valves are available in two seal types: resilient (elastomeric) seals or metal seals. In elastomeric sealing valves, these seals can be mounted on either side or attached along periphery edges.
